Description of Ruggeri Prosecco Argeo Brut
Ruggeri Prosecco Argeo Brut (Glera)
- View: Ruggeri Prosecco Argeo Brut has a clear, pale, yellow straw colour with greenish highlights.
- Nose: Elegant bouquet, marked by exquisite floral scents and intense fruity notes of golden apple.
- Mouth: Fresh and delicate on the mouth, smooth and balanced. The finish is long and charged with fruity nuances.
APPELLATION: Prosecco Veneto
VINEYARD: Ruggieri. From the Prosecco region in Italy, this house was founded in 1950 and is one of the largest producers for this appellation, releasing around 1 million bottles a year. Over 20 hectares comprise this estate, planted with Glera (traditionally called Prosecco), Pinot Grigio, and in a lesser amount, Recantina.
GRAPES: 100% Glera (Prosecco).
PREPARATION: The vinification process for this wine follows the traditional white. This implies that fermentation is performed without the skins and at a controlled cold temperature of 18°C for a period of 8 days. The foam is then removed in order to promote a slow fermentation in large, closed containers at controlled temperatures of 12-14°C. The final result is a dry wine, but surprisingly fresh and fruity, ideal to be enjoyed chilled in a summer afternoon.
PAIRING: Perfect to be served as an aperitif, but it also pairs well with fish, appetizers, and light first courses.
RIGHT SERVING TEMPERATURE: 5-7°C.
