Olivier Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 2017

Its name derives from "Pul" which means "marais": marsh. Puligny is on small pockets of water which prevent building of underground cellars.

Olivier Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 2017

Glorious representative of the house, this wine presents a set of noble and racy aromas with notes of citrus, a beautiful minerality and a delicate toast. The palate is elegant and tonic, followed by a very long persistence.

This is the grandfather of Olivier Leflaive Joseph, who, following WW1 and the bankruptcy of its steel plant in Saint-Etienne, will initiate the expansion of the field, its investment in Burgundy being all he had left. The area becomes a family farm of 35 hectares. His son Joseph Regis, insurer, and his brother Vincent took over in 1953. The house quickly acquires its nobility, thanks to the arrival in the 70 air conditioning in Puligny, a breakthrough for the village built two meters above the water table, which did not have underground cellars. In 1982, Olivier became co-manager of Domaine Leflaive, alongside his uncle Vincent and his cousin Anne-Claude. In 1984, he created the idea of its rearing society and winemaking.
The philosophy of Olivier Leflaive is to produce great wines, simply. For that, no secret, everything starts with the vine
