The Alentejo - literally "beyond the Tagus River" - is the wine region that runs from Lisbon south to the Algarve region. It is often referred to as 'Portugal's California'.
This is where the Portuguese white wine Monte Velho Branco 2018, a fresh, fruity wine comes from, offering scents of cool tropical fruit. In the mouth, it turns out to be dry and soft, with touches of delicious pear and melon. Thanks to its beautiful minerality, it is an excellent accompaniment for fish dishes, seafood and pasta, but also for dishes based on pork and vegetarian dishes.
