Vega Sicilia Unico 2009

This harmonious red is balanced and deep, offering ripe plum and currant flavors, with black pepper, tobacco, licorice and mineral accents. Delivers plenty of structure, with well-integrated tannins and lively acidity. The wine remains graceful through the long, spicy finish.

Vega Sicilia Reserva Especial 2009

I found it at a wine tasting.
This red wine is cherry with brown edges. Good smell of coffee and toffee. Distinctive oxidation notes on the palate.
Vega Sicilia Reserva Especial pairs vey well with a spicy fish .

Vega Sicilia Unico 2009

The 2009 Vega Sicilia Unico is released to the market after 10 years and is the successor of 2006 (the 2007 and 2008 have been earlier than 2006). The 2009 Único has a freshness with red fruit and haasrt Burgundian-like characteristics. The 2009 Vega Sicilia Unico consists mainly Tempranillo with some 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, fermented with indigenous yeasts in oak barrels in 225 liter French and American oak barrels for six years and 20 000 liters and nowadays even 40. 000 liter drums (so to limit the influence of oak). Since mid-2015 is the wine in the bottle. The extra time in the bottle helped the wine to develop its bouquet and it feels very aromatic and open, with the classic Vega Sicilia perfume of yesteryear, earthy and spicy, the wine is still very strong but at the same time it is elegant and has a polished mouthfeel with fine-grained tannins. All the wines from Vega concentration combine with elegance and linking intensity, and variety of complexity and length. Simply Top but we also speak enfin Vega Sicilia.
