Mingortiz 2015

The Mingortiz Finca Allende is an organic farmed vineyard that was planted in 1964. The vineyard is located in the Rioja Alta in Briones at 515 meters altitude on a terroir of clay and lots of gravel and boulders. The Mingortiz is made from 100% Tempranillo and aged in new French oak barrels for 16 months. In the nose we smell balsamic, black fruit compote and mineral tones with. In the mouth the wine has a great balance between fruit and acidity. The soil and altitude make it a fruit-driven wine (modern style Rioja). The Mingortiz is not shy wine with 15% alcohol but very serious, clean, harmonious and expressive. Allende Mongortiz of only 9000 bottles and are being bottled unfiltered.
