Born in Cuba in 1862, Bacardi is a premium rum known around the world for both its quality and for the iconic bat which can be found on its label. This little black bat is a throwback to the large number of fruit bats that inhabited the rafters of the first Bacardi distillery. The "rum of the bat", as it is known in Cuba, has been a family institution since it was founded by Don Facundo Bacardí Massó. It now finds itself in the hands of the seventh generation of the same family.
The classic Bacardi rum has been improved upon with Bacardi Razz Raspberry. This flavoured Cuban rum takes the delicious, smooth white rum and infuses it with the sharp tang of citrus and the crisp and refreshing flavour of fresh raspberries. The final product is the perfect harmony between tartness and sweetness.
Enjoy Bacardi Razz Raspberry on its own or as a welcome addition to any rum cocktail. The raspberry notes will sweeten any mix while the citrus is sure to brighten up the flavour. Make the most of a summer afternoon by mixing Bacardi Razz Raspberry with berries and lemonade for a refreshing spritz. Just make sure to have plenty of ice on hand to keep up with demand!
Description of Bacardi Razz Raspberry 1L
Bacardi Razz Raspberry 1L
- Colour: Even though this drink is flavoured, no extra colourant is added. This makes it clear.
- Aroma: A fresh raspberry scent mingles well with traditional sweet molasses scents of white rum.
- Taste: This drink perfectly blends a fresh raspberry flavour with that of the famous flavour of Bacardi rum. This rum is typically made of molasses, which, in turn, is made from sugar cane. This gives the drink a sweet flavour. Also, it has a lower alcohol content than Barcardi's usual rum, which helps it to go down smoothly. It tastes best when used in fruity mixed drinks.
PRODUCER: Bacardi Rum was founded by Facundo Bacardi Masso. He was born in Spain but started his distillery in Cuba in 1862. Rumor has it that Bacardi was the first distillery in the world to make white rum.
PRODUCTION DETAILS: Bacardi will likely never give up its secret recipe. However, we do know some of the basics of how white rum is made. Bacardi's drinks are made of distilled cane sugar or molasses. Once the base drink is made, it's time to add the raspberry flavouring. Since this has a lower alcohol content, it could technically be classified as a liqueur. It could also earn this classification for its added flavouring and sugars.
The Bacardi Limited story is a peculiar one. Indeed, when Facundo Bacardí Massó left the little town of Sitges, Catalonia, at the beginning of the 19th century, little did he know that he would end up creating one of the largest spirits company in the world.More about the Winery
