Château Cheval Blanc 2014

Mythical, the Château Cheval Blanc is one of the greatest wines in monde.Jusqu'en 1835 Cheval Blanc vineyard was part of the domain of Figeac. Sold in two stages during the XIXº century, owners of Château Gospel, the Fourcaud Lussac family, the domain is created as such and expanded by his descendants who remain owners until the end of the century XXº . In 1998, the duo Albert Frère - Bernard Arnault bought out the Civil Society of the White Horse, but continuity remains in the person of the Director, Pierre Lurton and his team. In 2009, LVMH buys 50% stake in the holding company owned by Bernard Arnault. Since 2011, the winemaking take place in the new winery designed by architect Christian de Portzamparc; a spacious, bright and ecological which Pierre Lurton dreaming. Cheval Blanc was confirmed as premier grand cru classé A in the 2012 ranking, and thanks to the annexation of the neighboring castle Tour du Pin, 1.40 hectares were added to the plate foncière.Doté a very specific terroir, vineyard on the edge of Pomerol. The planting is atypical for the region of Saint-Emilion, with a proportion of Cabernet Franc higher than Merlot. This wine of great richness and a nice creaminess is revealed by exotic aromas of spices and characteristics of ripe black fruit, menthol nuances. Among the great wines of Bordeaux, Cheval Blanc remains the longest at an excellent level. During bottling, the wine is often delicious. After decades guard (in great vintages), it appears superb intensity and richness. Some vintages, like 1947 or 1982 to reach the pinnacle of perfection. Despite a slight qualitative shift in the 1960s and 1970s, Château Cheval Blanc remains unbeatable since 1954, on the top step of the classification of wines of Saint-Emilion, the rank of 1st Cru A.PRIMEURS 2014 - Available Q1 2017

Château Cheval Blanc 2014

The charm of the 2014 vintage is due to the fact that it is a vintage of the past season
If the spring rains were able to disturb the vine grower, late veraison ended at the end of August, the dry and sunny weather of September and actobre allowed a satisfactory harvest at maturity
It is a vintage of winegrowers where the multiplication of oerations, viticoles has made it possible to obtain on each plot a homogeneous maturity and optimal
It is finally a real vintage, very "Cheval Blanc" floral and fruity
Assembly has become more important, soil diversity has been fully expressed
Wine: Beautiful color of the robe, deep ruby
The rich nose, overhead, reflects an impressive intensity, evolving towards a bouquet of cedar
The black fruits, blackberry, blackcurrant and red, cherry, raspberry blend harmoniously
The floral note is expressed through a fruity and heady rose aroma
The flavor and aromatic precision sum up the nose of this vintage
On the palate, the attack is frank and powerful, even opulent
The second half of the mouth is full of fruit with a creamy texture and readily greasy, perfectly coating the density and tension of the ripe tannins
The fresh and elegant finish is remarkably long.
