2016 Château de Fonbel (Merlot, Carmenere, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon)
- View: deep garnet.
- Nose: Nose classic warm red plum, cigar box and black plums with hints of gooseberry.
- Mouth: lots of fruit, lovely tannins and a long, refreshing finish.
VINEYARD: Age: 20 years on average. Soil: clayey sands and gravels on chalky subsoil.
GRAPES: 70% Merlot, 16% Cabernet sauvignon, 7% and 7% Petit Verdot Carmenere.
AGEING: 10 months in new French oak barrels.
PREPARATION: Vintage was carried out on September 29 to October 18. Fermentations are made in stainless steel tanks.
WINE PAIRING: meat stews.
