Description · Château Fombrauge

2005 Château Fombrauge

The vines, on slopes and the base of slopes, mostly have direct southern exposure. The soil-types and topography encompass the three main kinds of terroir at Saint Emilion. Fombrauge is thus able to produce wines of great finesse. The fact that the vineyard lies on several distinct types of terroir adds to its particularity.

Château Fombrauge

"A Saint-Emilion Grand Cru requires a lot of passion and massive care and attention if you want to create a great vintage each year. My friends refer to Château Fombrauge as the "Great Saint-Emilion"." Bernard Magrez - Owner

Château Fombrauge 2005

My partner bought it in internet.
Reddish towards brown. Red fruit aromas. A very flat Saint-Emilion in the mouth.

Reviews about Château Fombrauge 2013

A blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, this 2013 vintage, fully fermented in barrels, is very tannic. It offers a beautiful structure.
Drink or keep: 2016-2019

Fombrauge Saint-Emilion 2017
All of my friends were delighted about this wine.
This red one was lighter that I had expected. Fantastic berry aromas. I enjoyed it quite long after the last sip.
I recommend to taste it with prosciutto.

Magrez Fombrauge Saint-Emilion 2017
Red Bordeaux tone. The smell of violets was so strong that it seemed curious to me.The Saint-Emilion tasted like wild berries.
The best one to enjoy it with a good "Serrano ham".
A special red wine for someone just as special .
