Château la Dominique 2015

This country of small farms has land of great diversity and wines and have their own personality. For vines, a clear dominance of merlot is noted, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Matches quite well with cheese. Perfect wine to share with friends.
The colour was rather dark red. Aromas of pipe tobacco. Distinctive oxidation notes on the palate.

Château la Dominique 2015

The particularity of this vintage is based on climatic conditions from April to June remarkable
After a rather classic winter (a little rain, temperatures in the normal season), the spring opens on an exceptional month of April, with temperatures already summer (April 13, 28 º C at La Dominica) who run until May 1st
This very early summer, which will crescendo until July, promotes a rapid and homogeneous flowering
The month of July is unprecedented: the heat (10 to 15 consecutive days at 35 º C), combined with a characteristic drought (24 mm fell over the whole month of July), cause a significant water stress
The deep rooting of our vines and the water regulation of our clay soils are a considerable asset in this context of pronounced dryness
The work of restructuring our vineyard is bearing fruit this year more than ever, and allows us to cross this period with great serenity.

We drank it at a meeting with friends.
Typical opacity of a Château La Dominique. Toasty aromas. It was harsh in the mouth for a Saint-Emilion.
As I had it between meals I could not pair it.

Brownish red edges. The Saint-Emilion smells like cherry, licorice. It was not pleasant, it was oxidized.
A Château la Dominique that we had as a dessert of a good meal.
At the a friend's wedding.

You have to notice this 's coffee aromas. It seemed a bit salty, it reminded me the sea.
I would recommend it.
