Château Calon-Segur Bordeaux 2010
Its intense colour attracted me. The smell of this Château Calon-Segur Bordeaux reminds me somehow a menthol candy. Quite powerful flavour.
The Château Calon-Segur Bordeaux even grades up pairing it with a delicious Iberian ham.

Reviews about Château Calon-Ségur 2005
The property has a total area of more than 50 hectares, with an essentially serious soil and sandy clay in the deeper layers. One key to the success of the house lies in traditional methods it uses, while respecting the environment. This expertise is indeed a great asset, allowing contemplation of flavors at each tasting as highlighted by the experts.
Calon-Segur 2005: a powerful and fruity wine
Château Calon-Ségur 2005 was a successful wine that beautifully reflects the flavors of the region. It has a dress emblazoned with a pretty plum color. The nose reveals powerful aromas of ripe fruit sprinkled with some spicy notes. In the mouth it demonstrated excellent consistency with a finish of great length.
"A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, the Calon-Segur 2005 is a pure product home of the Bordeaux region, which will keep 30 to 40 years or more. Its dense ruby color with violet shades is combined with a nose offering scents of damp earth, of wood smoke, black cherries, black currants and Asian and exotic spice. Wine is tremendously consistent with well marked tannins, significant acidity and structured mouthfeel, almost impenetrable. Nevertheless, it is easy to feel the volume, the extract and richness of this pure and deep wine. "Robert Parker

Moreover, the perfect weather conditions allow vineyards to improve throughout the year with very sunny days and cool nights instead.
Calon-Segur 2001, a powerful wine with an excellent fruity return
Partly composed of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Château Calon-Segur 2001 is a prestigious wine. Her dress features a beautiful plum color testifying in favor of a powerful wine. His nose confirms this first impression with a harmonious blend of ripe fruit and spices. His mouth, both large and fleshy, is characterized by a long, lingering finish. Served with game, roast lamb or a steak bordelaise, it will satisfy lovers of red wine very powerful.
"Fine and complex bouquet offers delicate aromas of spices (vanilla) and fruit and licorice. Sappy and supported by a solid tannic material, the palace is consistent with the persistence of the final inviting to wait this bottle four or five years. "Guide Hachette des Vins 2005

Reviews about Château Calon-Ségur 1996
The geographical location of the vineyards and the rich soils are favorable factors for the development and production of fine wines. Calon-Segur is no exception to this traditional rule and confirms each year the predispositions of his incredible terroir, regularly put forward by the specialists. The property of 50 hectares has indeed made serious soil clay and sand, perfect for optimal ripening of the grapes.
Calon-Segur 1996 a vintage spectacular
Calon-Segur 1996 was developed from an exquisite blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot Black, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, giving this great vintage exceptional flavors. Her dress both deep and dark hints pure and spectacular wine. The nose reveals a nice complexity based on dried herbs notes, but also black cherry and cassis. As for her mouth, she demonstrated an incomparable elegance, with a lingering finish testifying to the quality of this great vintage. Accompanied by a steak Bordelaise, a game or a cheese platter, it will delight lovers of Medoc.
"The 1996 is not as deep as I predicted at the end of the barrel, but this is an exceptional wine. Dark color, ruby color, complex nose of dried herbs, Asian spices, and black cherry jam intermixed with cassis, it has exceptional purity. This classic wine, medium-bodied, prepared the traditional way, improves dramatically with aeration, suggesting it will have a very long life. "Wine Advocate - Robert Parker
