1999 Château Cos d'Estournel (Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot)

A good year despite the changing weather conditions.

A very deep colour, intense round the edge. A bouquet still closed up, with aromas of black fruits, bilberry. It is elegant in the mouth with tender, silky, rich tannins. A great deal of delicacy and elegance. The fruit is nicely persistent. Maturity: 2008 to 2025.

Cos D'Estournel 1999

Like a novelist who maintains the same style in different novels, a Grand Cru wine can express a certain style in different years.

Cos d’Estournel has become, in the eyes of lovers of fine wines, the archetype of a certain style of masculine elegance in which immense power is combined with grace and smoothness.

Impressive when young for the intensity of its structure and explosive fruit, Cos d’Estournel evolves slowly to arrive, when completely mature.

Blend 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot
Maturing 60% new barrels

Smells good, licorice and violet aromas. In the mouth it is thick enough.
If you like powerful wines, you already know.

Cos d'Estournel 2014
We did not choose the proper food, but the wine was good. Brought by a friend and I opened it with him.
Cherry red. Aromas of dried fruits. I left the bottle opened for a couple of days and got spoiled.

Château Cos d Estournel 2013
Cherry blossom colour, very opaque. In the nose, red fruit and green pepper. The main flavour is coffee.
A red that suits good with moussaka.
I drank it with a business client.
