Château Lafon Rochet 2006

The Saint Estèphe are the most tannic wines of the Médoc. Dressed in red garnet, they are long closed mouth to better explode when mature. 2006 was a difficult vintage. It is a winemaker's vintage. The winter was cold and hard with snowfall. Spring was wet which allowed the mildew from spreading. The warm spell from mid-June evolved into drought. The month of August was execrable. Finally a beautiful September allowed harvest on a beautiful maturities. Good winemakers have managed a beautiful and great vintage.

Château Lafont Rochet Saint-Estèphe 2006

We order it in a supper with working colleagues.
Red base colour with violet hints. The Vouvray smells like cherry, licorice. I was surprised that this  had a slightly bitter end, I liked it.
The ideal wine to finish a meal.

Château Lafont Rochet 2006

It was very expensive for me.
A lighter red than expected. Dense aroma of red fruit marmalade. It reminded me of berries .

It had a wonderful aroma of cherry and red fruit. I like the slight roughness it leaves you on the mouth.
This red is the best I've ever tasted.
