It was at a dinner party that Martin Bouygues, one of the billionaire Bouygues brothers and owner of Monrose, encountered his first bottle of 1989 Montrose. He loved the wine so much he vowed to buy the estate if it ever came up for sale. It did, and he did.

Château Montrose 2008

Regular rainy episodes and very mild temperatures characterize the year 2008 during which we distinguish all the same some hot and sunny episodes, especially at the beginning of flowering (mid-June) and the veraison (end-July)

Once again this year, Montrose's unique terroir has helped fight against pest pressure, thanks to the draining capacities of its soils of serious associated with the permanent air current that sweeps and dries the vineyard
The happy consequence of this collaboration between the benefits of the terroir and the work of man (prophylactic measures and work in green) is the quality of the manna at the approach of maturity; maturity that, from the beginning of September, we could wait with serentié, in order to harvest a raw material of quality
Harvest and vinification The macerations lasted 18 to 21 days.

This Second Classified Saint-Estèphe is one of the references in this prestigious appellation.
With the hand of master Jean-Bernard Delmas Castle asserts itself in a precise and elegant style.
The 2011 vintage is characterized by a garnet-colored dress.
His nose is expressive with fruity aromas, spicy smells of mocha and licorice.
His mouth is rich, powerful and accurate with time. It is dense, with imposing tight and velvety tannins. It also elongated and éclatant.Boire or keep: 2023 - 2042
PAIRING: Hare stew of ceps

Montrose Saint-Estèphe 2016
I thought the Montrose Saint-Estèphe would be perfect for a romantic evening.
The red and violet edges were visible for me. Notes of strawberry on the nose. I felt it alive and fresh.
We didn't pair it well, but the wine was good.
