Château Ormes De Pez

Chateau Les Ormes de Pez takes its name from the village of Pez near St Estèphe, as do the other nearby cru bourgeois properties of de Pez and La Tour de Pez. Les Ormes translates as elms, and betrays the presence of a copse of these trees, long since disappeared, near the chateau.

Château Les Ormes de Pez 2015

A gift from a friend.
A wine with a high layer and a nice cherry colour. The wine mainly smells like roses. It has a very mild and pleasant flavour.

Château Les Ormes de Pez 2015

Red tinted with browny edges. The 2015 smells like violets. Reminded me of burned wood and it was a pleasant taste.
It was too well-bodied for our meal.
I tried it on a tasting course.

Château Les Ormes de Pez 2016
I usually preserve Château Les Ormes de Pez for special people.
Intense ruby tone. Balsamic and menthol aromas. It had a correct astringency.
I had it with fish, but I didn't like the fish, and therefore the wine didn't taste right.

Château Les Ormes de Pez 2008
Shows an intense ruby red colour red. Clear licorice and balsamic aromas of menthol.A surprising fruity wine.
I propose to pair this Saint-Estèphe with sausages from the same region.
A bottle of this red for two, solo.

Château Les Ormes de Pez Rouge 2001
Red almost purple colour. Smells a lot of oak. Softer than 2001.
Needs to be drunk with the right food.
A good wine to enjoy with good friends.
