  • Nose: The nose is rich with aromas of creme de cassis (blackcurrant liqueur) and blackcurrant, and elegant nuances of roasted coffee.
  • Mouth: After a sweet and fleshy attack, the wine builds in the mouth, revealing their power and structure. It is similar to a Roman building, all in roundness, but impressive. Particularly soft tannins.

Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 2008

It is interesting to note that 2008 was born under climatic conditions almost identical to those of 1988
The whole vegetative cycle is characterized by a variable climate, alternating good weather and less mild periods: July was beautiful and dry, August more mixed as well as the first part of September
The sun makes a triumphant return from September 15, allowing the castle, while the pessimism gained, to buckle in an exemplary manner the ripening of the grapes
Aged 18 months in Bordeaux barrels of which 90% new wood and the balance of barrels of a wine.

Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 2008

Ducru Beaucaillou has emerged as one of the most iconic wines from St Julien. In a commune literally bulging with celebrated estates, Ducru Beaucaillou, under the stewardship of Bruno Borie has hit the front of the pack. The estate's vineyards occupy some 215 hectares although only 75 hectares are used for Ducru. The soils around the chateau are dominated by Gunzian gravel and Cailloux. The style of the grand vin is flamboyant, polished and is built for long-term aging.

Cherry red colour. Nuts presence on the nose.I enjoyed it quite long after the last sip.
You can take it with any meal.
I found it at a wine tasting.

I enjoyed with a good friend.
Red wine with violet reflections. This Château Ducru Beaucaillou smells like violets. It reveals a kind of salty aftertaste.
A wine to be paired with "Tapas".

The best pairing would have been with fish. I like to surprise my family with this wine.
Red almost purple. Very good aromas of vanilla. For me it tasted like grape.
