Château Gruaud-Larose 2009

As a young man Joseph Stanislas Gruaud was the owner of the Ténac, Sartaignac and Merle Crus in the 18th century. He united them in 1757 under the name of "Fonbedeau", also called «Gruaud». A legend was born. He died in 1771 and left the property that he had looked so well after to Monsieur de Larose. In 1781, the name of the new owner was added to that of its predecessor. The Cru then became «Gruaud Larose".

Château Gruaud-Larose 2009

TASTING NOTES:
Big, sweet nose of creme de cassis, new saddle leather, spice box, and boysenberries. Made in a rich, broad, savory, juicy style with lots of succulence, but none of the masculinity and ruggedness often found in this offering, this wine is loaded with concentration and extract. The tannins are largely concealed by the remarkable intensity of fruit and density.

Vintage 2013: intense color and bright red grenache deep. Nose: coffee notes torrifié, stewed fruit, strawberry and spices. Beautiful aromatic complexity. On the palate, supple, powerful and elegant tannins. A beautiful structure. A wine with an aromatic persistence Gourman any length.

Very dark Bordeaux colour. Slight smell of tea in this Saint-Julien.It tasted like grape juice.
The Château Gruaud Larose even grades up pairing it with a delicious Iberian ham.
I liked sharing this wine with someone special.
