Château Lagrange (Saint Julien) 1981

I have shared a bottle with my boss in more than one occasion.
It seems like avery intense red ruby colour. It smells like violets. Nice and fresh.
We had it with cake.

Reviews about Château Lagrange 2013

As every year, the assemblies are made in February, five months after harvest. This is most striking in 2013 is the high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. This strong trend that since the 2007 vintage wines are observed ensures a certain aging potential through a freshness and bright fruit. With 75% of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend is after 2000 vintage which has the most with the legendary 2010!
The Merlot is soft and fruity, the Cabernet Sauvignon is caractérisentpar racy tannins with great power, high accuracy and outstanding aromas of fruit. Small fleshy and powerful Verdot are also an asset to densify the wines this year.
Lagrange 2013 is a specific wine with classicism and elegance that characterize the great wines of Saint Julien.
Of this Château Lagrange, 2013, the selection has been draconian, to face a difficult vintage. This hard work has paid off, to give a wine of exquisite. It has soft tannins for a nice balance, very suave mouth. A final all in freshness, supple tannins.
Château Lagrange also produces a second wine Les Fiefs de Lagrange.
Other notation: Bettane & Desseauve: 16.5-17 / 20
Drink or keep: 2016 - 2021
PAIRING: breast dried Duck

Lagrange Saint-Julien 2016
A Lagrange Saint-Julien that was served as dessert of a good meal. I opened the bottle for my best friend.
I especially liked the colour. Good aromas of nuts. Powerful taste of wild berries.

As nearly all of them this one shows also a cherry colour. Toffee notes can be appreciated. I felt it alive and fresh.
A good red to finish the meal properly.
I drank it with my best friend.
