Château Lalande Borie 2016

4 /5

The 2016 Lalande Borie is a blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 30% new oak and the rest a year old. This Saint Julian is very deep dark purple color. The nose has beautiful black fruit (black cherry), flowers and a spicy touch. The St. Julien, always of very good quality, again excels thanks to its sensuous and smooth taste. The tannins are very fine, the fruit is refined, fresh, juicy and rich with a crispy flavor. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, very harmonious and coherent, citrusy freshness from beginning to end with a long and velvety blueberry and blackberry finish. This is very polished and gives many years, many drinking games. Experts know that 2016 was a very beautiful year and not surprisingly so this year 90-92 / 100 Parker points and 93/100 received from James Suckling.

4/5

The 2013 vintage leaves fully express the authenticity of the terroir of Saint-Julien.
The dress is red with purple amethyst hues. The bouquet releases aromas of wild red fruits enhanced by notes of chocolate.
The mouth is full and harmonious, the tannins bring a pleasant complexity giving the wine a nice character.
Château Lalande-Borie 2013 is a great value for the Saint-Julien appellation.
You can drink this wine now and most patients will also enjoy its evolution in the next ten years.

It can be found in some gourmet shops.
Fantastic colour. It smells like candy. I drank in several day after I first opened it and, even though the days, it tasted good.

We paired it with meat. I would not have drunk it with meat, it was not proper. A bottle of this red for two, solo.
Brownish red edges. The smell of this Château Lalande-Borie somehow reminds me a menthol candy. It was in poor condition, tasted vinegary.
