I opened this 2013 with a friend.
Dark cherry colour, medium opacity. Vanilla aromas. It has a mild flavour.
It would go perfect with blue fish.

La Croix de Beaucaillou is the second wine of Ducru-Beaucaillou.
Ducru-Beaucaillou Château owes its name not only to the soil characteristics of the terroir, but also to Bertrand Ducru who acquired it in 1795.
The 75 hectares of vineyards Ducru-Beaucaillou lie in the municipality of Saint-Julien, on the edge of the Gironde, making him eligible for a protective microclimate regulator. The vines of the vineyard is composed of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot 30%.
The wines are aged in oak barrels (20 to 40% new) for 12 months.
This 2012 vintage is about 50% of production. It is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot.
On an intense color of ruby, plum reflections, it offers a flexible nose of blackcurrant on a background of vanilla, sprinkled with light notes reflecting perfectly the terroir. Round and medium-bodied, it will accompany your feast without difficulty during the next decade.

Ducru-Beaucaillou also produced The Little Pebble.

Brillant ruby red colour, high layer. I cleary noticed toasty notes. It tasted good to me.
