2015 Bacalhoa Moscatel de Setubal (Moscatel and Moscato Giallo)
- View: 2015 Bacalhoa Moscatel de Setubal is a deep-tawny-coloured wine.
- Nose: This wine has a developing bouquet. Notes of orange blossom, citrus, dried apricot, raisins and some jasmine are dominating, but some light oak is also present.
- Mouth: This is a fresh, minerally and fruity fortified wine, with a creamy body, refreshing acidity and a long and persistent finish. Concentrated flavours of oranges, fig, caramel and honey are what defines this wine, from the first sip. This wine has a solid ageing potential, and it is left to the consumer to decide whether he will drink it now or keep it bottled for another 3 years.
GRAPES: 100% Moscatel
AGEING: 2015 Bacalhoa Moscatel de Setubal is aged in used oak barrels for a couple of months before bottling takes place.
PREPARATION: The fermentation is done in stainless steel tanks and lasts for only a couple of days, before the interruption with spirit is done. The wine is left in the tanks for a post-maceration process throughout the next winter.
PAIRING: This is a great aperitif wine, but not only that. It pairs perfectly with desserts of all kinds, but especially the chocolate ones.
RIGHT SERVING TEMPERATURE: 10-12°C
