2015 Quinta da Bacalhôa (Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: vivid and deep red.
  • Nose: aromas of red fruits, hints of wood and spices.
  • Mouth: sensations of red fruits, soft tannins well present a fresh finish, somewhat mineral, elegant and very complex.

APPELLATION: Setubal.

VINEYARD: Terroir: clayey-calcareous soil.

GRAPES: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot 90% 10%.

AGEING: 13 months in new French oak barrels, with a minimum of 6 months in bottle.

PREPARATION: temperature-controlled fermentation. A period of post-fermentiva a week maceration.

WINE PAIRING: red meat dishes and game (venison or deer).

RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-18 °C

ALCOHOL: 14.5%

A wine to drink with the closest friends.
Twinkling cherry colour. When you smell it you can note aromas such as licorice, violet, .... This Setubal stands out for its warm and balanced character.
It would have been better with fish.
