Mastroberardino Taurasi Radici Riserva 2012

A dry and aromatic red, with accents of cured tobacco and pencil shavings to the flavors of baked raspberry, licorice snap and tarry smoke. Well-knit and balanced, this is full-bodied, with dense tannins firming the finish.

Mastroberardino Taurasi Radici Riserva 2012

I enjoyed it without pairing. My best friend had tried it and she recommended it to me.
Cherry red, clean colour. The red smells good, like red fruit compote. Caramel flavour.

Mastroberardino Taurasi Radici Riserva 2012

The Mastroberardino Radici Riserva comes from the vines around 20 years of age placed in the upper part of the vineyard Montemarano, in the province of Avellino. Aglianico in purity, is the result of a vinification at controlled temperature with long maceration on the skins. It rises in French oak barriques and Slavonian oak for 30 months, after which it is placed in aging for at least 36 months in bottle. It is characterized by a brilliant ruby red color. The nose exhibits a bouquet of ripe black cherry, accompanied by notes of leather, licorice and tobacco. On the palate it shows off an indomitable minerality, revealing warm and material, with a long finish that evolves on elegant tones of plum and black pepper. Perfect with a platter of cheese, truffles and meat sauce, it is ideal to accompany red meats, roasts and game dishes.
