Bodegas Salentein was founded in 1992 by Dutch businessman Mijndert Pon. The very prominent Bodega, designed by architect Mario Day Arenas, has the shape of a cross in which the wine eight meters underground in wooden barrels are maturing in a room reminiscent of an amphitheater. The vineyards of Bodegas Salentein are situated in the heart of the Valle de Uco between 1050 and 1700 meters above sea level at the foot and on the slopes of the imposing Andes in your wine Mendoza. The soil there is of coarse stone, which gives a perfect water drainage. The nights are cool and the days warm and sunny. The high altitude and particular climatic characteristics, it is one of the most suitable regions in South America for the production of quality wines.
Salentein Numina Red is for 2 / 3rd composed of Malbec grapes from the 1080 and 1200 meters altitude vineyard Finca EL Oasis. The malbecwijn is supplemented with 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot 11%, 5% and 2%, Cabernet Franc Petit Verdot. The grapes are all picked by hand. After a rigorous selection, they are vinified with a combination of modern and traditional techniques. The wine then undergoes a maturing of 16 months in French oak barrels. The result is a lively, intense dark purple to black wine. It offers sweet aromas of plums and ripe red fruit and elegant tannins. The flavor is delicate and soft with a good structure, acidity and a full, slightly sultry finish. Salentein Numina Red is an excellent dinner wine that is well suited to assist in fine meats, game and hard cheeses. Deliveries may be imposed eight to 10 years after harvest.
