Casal Garcia is the product of a train journey mixed with the perfect levels of admiration, passion, and opportunity. When Eugène Hélisse, a French winemaker, decided to get off the train to admire the well-tended vines at Quinta da Aveleda in 1939, a friendship was sparked which lead to a beautiful partnership that we can still take advantage of today: Casal Garcia.

Casal Garcia may have a small portfolio of wines, but they are all excellent. One that sticks out is the Casal Garcia Vinho Verde Rosé . It is not often that you find a Vinho Verde that is not white or red. This rosé is the definition of a Vinho Verde. It is young, refreshing, and easy to drink. The fact that is it a rosé instead of a white wine means that it is fruitier and has a much fuller palate of flavours than its white counterparts.

The aroma of the Casal Garcia Vinho Verde Rosé is a delightful mix of berry aromas with raspberry and strawberry in the forefront, backed up by pleasing citrus notes. It is not as fruity on the palate as you would think. The lovely level of acidity would make this the perfect accompaniment for rich dishes as the acidity can cut through the fat. To play off its fruity side, this wine would also go well with fruit or fruit-based desserts.
