This year, both spirit and wine drinkers are seeking out a little slice of luxury in their drink of choice. Whiskey, bourbon, cognac and dark rum-based cocktails with spicy, fruity edges are taking center-stage, with more and more discerning consumers seeking the premium brands and most luxe, velvety cocktails on the menu. This November, the trend for Jameson’s in the millennial market share shows no signs of slowing down whilst wine and champagne drinkers continue to spend more and more on premium brands like Campo Viejo and Perrier Jouët.
For a little extra hop, Jameson’s latest blend – Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition is a particular favorite for whiskey drinkers globally. The cherry on the top of the mutual love affair between consumers and the world-famous Irish whiskey brand, this special edition blend is finished in Irish Pale Ale-seasoned beer barrels. The finished product is a smooth whiskey with sweet herbal notes, a delicate spicy tone and a nutty, woody flavor. Pair with a half pint of hoppy pale ale and sip both in turn for an explosion of citrus. For the perfect light and creamy winter cocktail, try an IPA Sour. For an exciting twist on the classic recipe, you’ll find our tried and tested method below.
If IPA blended whiskey whets your appetite, we’re sure you’ll love the latest cognac blend from Martell Blue Swift. It is inspired by the 230-year historical ties between Cognac’s native France and the United States where the first barrels are said to have been shipped. This is an experiment where Europe meets the Deep South, and it’s a perfect pairing. The double distilled cognac absorbs the warm aromatic tones from the Kentucky bourbon oak casks, creating a smooth and delicious sipping drink with a sweet vanilla aroma, notes of candied fruit, plum and toasted oak. Serve neat, on the rocks or mix into a decadent cocktail.
