With a higher proportion of malt other family members and aged in sherry casks, this 17 years is presented as the perfect whiskey for experienced lovers of the distillate. The nose is ripe and fruity with hints of wood, berries and honey. The palate is fruity with good body, more well rounded with hints of vanilla and chocolate. Finishing moderately elongated bittersweet character. Nikka Taketsuru 17 years is presented in 70 cl bottle. and has a graduation of 43% alcohol.
Of the two malt whiskey distilleries Nikka Yoichi tastier, male and peat malt aromas. The whiskey gets its distinct aroma and body from direct heating distillation, in which the stills are heated with natural charcoal, fine powder - the traditional method that is rarely used today, even in Scotland.More about the Producer
