is a white grape native to the northern region of the Rhone. It almost became extinct, and the strains found in France are old and low-yielding. Today it is grown in Spain (Andalusia, Balearic Islands, Castilla-La Mancha and Murcia), and in Argentina, Australia, the U.S., New Zealand and Uruguay.
Its golden yellow color is unmistakable. It is rebellious and difficult to cultivate. When it matures it can reach 15º of alcohol, producing concentrated, bulky wines mostly drunk in their first two years of life to appreciate their floral aromas and spicy reminiscences.
